The John Ehret Wrestling Team has been in existence since Ehret became a co-ed school in the 1977-78 school year. Since then the Ehret Wrestling team has achieved several awards and much recognition. The Wrestling Team is a positive representation of John Ehret High School, promoting students to reach for their highest potential through both dedication and hard work. Wrestling instills pride and discipline in its members.

  • 2 National Champions at University of Southern Colorado (now Colorado State University at Pueblo)

Who can join?

  • We have a "no cut" policy for the wrestling team.
  • Anyone that comes out will make the team.
  • Only 14 wrestlers can start for Ehret. 
  • There are 14 weight classes, you must weigh less than the weight specified to wrestle in that weight class (see the weight classes below), and only one wrestler per weight class can be varsity. 
  • The starter is determined by who wins the matches against everyone on the team in their weight.

What you need.

  • A physical signed by a doctor.
  • A 2.0 GPA with no F's.
  • Medical insurance.
  • Drug Test
  • A good attitude.

Where is practice?

  • We currently hold practices in the multi-purpose room in the 300 building.

When are practices?

  • The first practice is the second week of October.
  • We practice right after school Monday through Friday.
  • The season runs from November through February.
